  3. And what will happen if you skip any of these steps in your journey to being a success.

STEP 1: FIX YOUR MINDSET.

I sense an eye roll somewhere. If you’ve been on the internet long enough, read blogs and listened to YouTube videos, you’ll know that a lot of business coaches talk about mindset and that’s because it is such an important part of your journey as an entrepreneur.

The only problem with learning a mindset that will help you set up and run your business like a boss when you have ADHD is that those techniques are not designed for your ADHD brain.

For instance, most business courses do not talk about how to handle the triggers of RSD in your business because it is an emotional trigger that mainly occurs with people who have ADHD.

Now let’s say that you happen to take that course that doesn’t have that aspect. What ends up happening is you’re equipped with all the knowledge to start and run a business with a neurotypical brain when you have an ADHD brain.

The end result is failure, hopelessness and a financial debt that cannot be recovered.

In short, what I’m trying to say is that you should fix mindset blocks that are related to your ADHD. What are some of the beliefs that are holding you back because you have ADHD?

How can you move past them or deal with them so that they don’t come up as an issue in the future while you run your business?

What is your current perception of money, working, and acquiring clients?

Now, those are some of the things we go over with my clients that have really helped them become successful entrepreneurs.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU DON’T FIX STEP 1

Anybody can start a business but there is a very big difference between the person who fixes their mindset and the person who doesn’t.

Take for example two entrepreneurs who both the very same type of business. One is conscious about the aversions he has towards money, success, time and business. He makes conscious decisions that propel his business like delegating work to other people to help him get more done in a short amount of time. He also knows how to distribute funds to the most needed areas of his business.

The other entrepreneur knows all the strategies that need to be done and he executes them but he hasn’t worked on the belief systems he has about success, money, time and business.

He has a difficult time letting go of control because he thinks he is the only one who can do it best or allocates his money according to his beliefs - the most common one being money is hard to come by.

At the end of the day, the first entrepreneur is able to drastically grow his business while the second one struggles and keeps wondering what he is doing wrong.

STEP 2: ADHD AWARENESS.

You are different. It’s that plain and simple. Your mind doesn’t operate like the Neurotypical mind and so you have to understand how you can be able to function with your ADHD.

When you’re aware of your ADHD, then you can quickly find solutions that will help you achieve more without having to feel stressed out.

For instance, most people with ADHD have problems forgetting people’s names. That means that if you’re at a networking event you’ll have to take extra measures to remember people’s names so you don’t come off as rude.

Now, those are some of the things that a person who has ADHD doesn’t have to bother about because it comes easy for them. But for you as an entrepreneur with ADHD you have to be conscious of how your brain works.

If not, this will happen.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU’RE NOT AWARE.

Well, if you do not make a conscious decision to learn about your ADHD, the superpowers that come with ADHD and the shortcomings, then you are automatically setting yourself up for failure.

You’ll never know how to create systems that support your ADHD shortcomings, how to embrace your ADHD, and how you can use those abilities to stand out.

It will be difficult to navigate your business to success. You will not understand your productivity cycle so you’ll always find that you always miss deadlines, forget meetings and it will make you feel like a loser - which you’re not.

STEP 3: CREATE A STRATEGY.

Having a strategy will guide you on the steps that you need to take to be able to drive your business. And as a person with ADHD, your brain will not appreciate that.

That’s why it’s important to invest in education that can teach you how to formulate a strategy that works with your lifestyle and that you can easily implement.

But remember, a strategy without the right mindset will not help you much.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU DON’T TAKE STEP 3.

A lack of strategy only means no direction.

When you have no direction in your business, then you literally don’t know what is helping you and what is not. You don’t know what to prioritize in your business that will help you reach your goals.

You’ll be doing a lot of things but you will realize that your business is struggling and you can’t really pinpoint what the problem is.

STEP 4: SUPPORT.

As a person living with ADHD, I can tell you that it always feels like I’m an outcast. Nobody seems to understand why I’m doing what I’m doing or why I can’t do what I’m supposed to do. And that can make you feel alone and misunderstood.

Now, it becomes even worse when you start your own business and your friends and family can’t seem to understand why you can’t just keep your job when it’s giving you cash. It becomes more lonely and you end up feeling like nobody will understand your struggles.

That’s why getting a group of people who are experiencing the same things you’re experiencing is great. You’re able to see that other people are struggling with things just like you are and that keeps you motivated.

And even when you do finally become successful, you’re able to share your excitement with other people. I cannot tell you the amount of time I’ve wanted to share a win with someone and I knew they just wouldn’t cheer me on because they didn’t know the struggle.

Finally, decision making becomes easier. People living with ADHD can become very indecisive. A good support will help you make the best decision in the shortest amount of time because you will not be relying solely on your ADHD brain.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU DON’T TAKE STEP 4.

Loneliness and frustration.

When you interact with like minded people, you get answers to your problems. You’re not alone in your journey and the burden that you have seems to be a little less because you have a lot of people who you can rely on to help you when you get stuck.

If you don’t have it, everything seems so huge to accomplish and most of time this the major reason most ADHDers end up quitting on their business.
